What we have here is a replica 1971 Porsche 917/10 Can-Am racer powered by a pair of Subaru flat-sixes mounted crank to crank. Call it a poor man's flat-twelve.

The two engines sit in hand-built chassis that was designed using a 1:18-scale model as reference (hey, work with what you've got). The coil and injector wires were spliced so a single computer will fire cylinder one on the first engine and cylinder six and the second engine simultaneously, theoretically making for synchronized startup and operation. Or maybe not.

Both engines comes from 2007 Subaru Tribeca crossovers, and the 917 replica uses a stock Tribeca five-speed automatic.The 3.0-liter flat-sixes each produced around 250 horsepower from the factory, so assuming everything works properly this could be a 500 hp car. That's still a bit short of the 660 hp produced by the original 917/10's 5.4-liter engine, but pretty good for a Frankenstein job.

Bodywork is fiberglass and incomplete, and the wiring needs to be finished as well.
